Dr. Andrew Smith is an ER doctor in and engineer with over 10 yrs clinical experience. He conceived, planned and helped implement the development of a Biomedical Engineering stream at Memorial University. Co-founded Bounce Health Innovation – a catalyst for health innovation that helped seed the emerging medical technology sector for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ms. Kathryn Lockhart
VP Growth and Corporate Strategy
Ms. Kathryn Lockhart holds an MBA from Harvard and has experience scaling young technology companies. Having spent 14 years working in Canada and Germany (6.5 years) for various technology companies, she has extensive experience in bringing young companies and ideas to life, growing sales teams and revenue streams, and establishing new markets.

Quality & Regulatory Affairs Engineer
From Pratt & Whitney to Lean Green Belt to project managing and controls manager for a $93-million natural gas power plant build inside an existing petrochemical plant. His medical design experience covers a DNA Hybridization instrument (patented), dental replacement processing equipment and tools, surgical protective equipment and ventilation (patented), X-Y tables, surgical tools, catheters & accessories, and heat-sealing systems.
Dr. Jason Roberts
Co-Founder & CMO
Dr. Jason Roberts is a cardiologist and clinician-scientist at Western University, London, Ontario. He has published over 60 papers with work appearing in Lancet, Circulation, Journal of American College of Cardiology, and Journal of Clinical Investigation. Dr. Roberts is on editorial boards for a series of journals, including Circulation: Genomic and Precision Medicine, the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, and the Canadian Journal of Cardiology. He previously worked with Spartan Bioscience to develop and validate the first point-of-care genetic test in clinical medicine, the results being published in the Lancet.

P.Eng. Andrew’s experience in Silicon Valley, Boston, and China serves as the perfect background to help bring the JVPhome to life. Leading mechanical and design analysis for product development in industries including medical, aerospace, alternative energy, consumer electronics, wearable electronics, and robotics, designing remote patient monitoring devices is right up his alley.
Dr. Robert Amelard
Lead Scientist
PhD. Award-winning research scientist, Rob’s interests are at the intersection of engineering (biomedical imaging systems, biophotonics, and artificial intelligence) and physiology (cardiovascular and neuromuscular biomechanics) for studying human health. His primary research focuses on the development and application of integrative intelligent imaging and biosensor systems for quantitatively assessing cardiovascular function and neuromuscular control, with an emphasis on biophotonic imaging (i.e., light-based technologies) and artificial intelligence.

Mr. Chuck Love

BA BEng. Chuck has advanced several medical technologies from inception through exit, and served as senior exec for multiple multinationals. He is the founder and CEO of Venture Sciences Group (VSG). Prior to VSG, Chuck held strategic executive roles for companies including the Medtronic CoreValve transcatheter heart valve, Circulite Synergy ventricular assist system, and Endologix Nellix AAA graft.
